ES and Polio Study
A targeted public health initiative aimed at detecting the presence of poliovirus in environmental samples primarily wastewater and sewage as an early warning system for poliovirus transmission in communities. This surveillance complements clinical monitoring by identifying virus circulation in populations where no acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) cases have been reported, thereby enabling health authorities to respond rapidly to silent transmission.
