Data Department

The Data Department, led by Dr. Sampson Twumasi-Ankrah, serves as the Centre’s hub for rigorous, high-quality data management in health research. We design and maintain secure, efficient, and fit-for-purpose databases, integrating advanced electronic data capture platforms such as REDCap and CommCare to streamline data flow from the field to analysis. Our mandate covers every stage of the data lifecycle from protocol development and validation procedures to statistical analysis and reporting. We specialize in vaccine trial design, infectious disease analytics, and epidemiological surveillance, applying advanced statistical methodologies, including time series analysis, to generate robust evidence for public health decision-making. With experience in managing large-scale, multi-country research projects such as TyVEGHA, SETA, and SAINTS, the department also plays a key role in capacity building, training field teams and researchers in data management best practices, statistical software, and quality assurance standards. Our commitment is simple but uncompromising: data integrity, scientific precision, and actionable insights that drive impactful research outcomes.
