Dr. Sampson Twumasi-Ankrah is the Data Manager for the KNUST-IVI Collaborative Centre, leading data management for all research projects. He oversees the design and quality control of project databases, implementing electronic data capture systems such as REDCap and CommCare, and establishing validation protocols to ensure high-quality data. His work spans statistical analysis, randomization design for clinical trials, and capacity building in data management and statistical software for research teams.
He has over eight years of experience managing data for large-scale, multi-country health research projects, including TyVEGHA, SETA, and SAINTS. His expertise covers vaccine trial design, infectious disease data analytics, epidemiological surveillance, and advanced statistical methodologies for public health, including time series analysis. Dr. Twumasi-Ankrah also develops data management protocols, standard operating procedures, and provides training for field teams on data collection tools and quality assurance.
A Senior Lecturer in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), he holds a PhD in Statistics from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, an MSc in Statistics from Lugansk National University, Ukraine, and a Certificate in Epidemiology from the European Educational Program in Epidemiology, Italy. He is also a Chartered Economist with the Global Academy of Finance and Management, USA.
Dr. Twumasi-Ankrah is currently co-supervising eight PhD candidates and is a member of the International Society for Clinical Biostatistics (ISCB) and the American Statistical Association. His scholarly contributions continue to advance data-driven decision-making in public health research.
