Dr. Michael Owusu-Ansah serves as the Study and Clinical Coordinator at the KNUST-IVI Collaborative Centre, where he plays a central role in the preparation, training, and implementation of study protocols on site. He coordinates all field activities, including the informed consent process, participant enrolment, case report form (CRF) data collection, and documentation, while ensuring participant safety throughout the study.
He is responsible for scheduling participant follow-ups, overseeing vaccine uptake during main campaign periods, and managing logistical accountability at both the central and satellite sites. Dr. Owusu-Ansah ensures strict adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and institutional review board (IRB) requirements, with oversight of site regulatory compliance. He also serves as the primary liaison between the Principal Investigator, the International Vaccine Institute, ethics committees, and study participants, providing regular updates to all stakeholders.
In addition to his coordination work, Dr. Owusu-Ansah is a Lecturer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and holds an MBChB, MGCPS, MPH, and FPM. His research interests span infectious disease, community health, and palliative care.

Dr. Owusu-Ansah has also published widely on tuberculosis outcomes, HIV care in adolescents, palliative care, COVID-19 preparedness, and the evaluation of typhoid conjugate vaccine effectiveness in Ghana.
